This Privacy Policy explains how Excuse Me (the “App”) handles information. We designed the App to work primarily on‑device. We do not require an account and we do not collect personal information on our servers.
Information We Handle
- Caller details you add (e.g., name, photo, optional number, video): stored locally on your device so you can simulate calls.
- Scheduling times for fake calls: stored locally so alarms/notifications can trigger.
- Permissions: the App may request notifications, exact alarms (Android 12+), vibration, wake lock, and proximity sensor access to function. You can revoke these in system settings.
What We Do Not Collect
- No account, login, or cloud profile.
- No server‑side logs of your calls, schedules, or caller data.
- No contact list is read unless you explicitly import contacts (if you use that optional feature).
- No advertising identifiers; no third‑party ad SDKs.
Optional Contact Import (If Enabled)
If you choose to import contacts to create callers, the App will request the relevant permission and read only the fields needed to populate your fake caller list. Imported data remains on your device and can be deleted by you at any time inside the App (e.g., by removing a caller) or by clearing the App’s data.
On‑Device Storage & Retention
Caller data and schedules are stored locally (e.g., app storage / shared preferences / database). You can delete them in‑app or by uninstalling the App. We do not control backups you enable at the OS level.
Third‑Party Services
The App may include open‑source libraries (e.g., image loading). These libraries operate on‑device. We do not share your personal information with third parties.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information on your device. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Keep your device and OS up to date and use a device lock screen.
Your Choices & Rights
- Permissions: Grant or revoke in device settings. Some features may stop working if revoked.
- Access/Deletion: Manage or delete your callers and schedules directly in the App. You can also uninstall the App to remove local data.
Depending on your region (e.g., EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise them.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International Use
We do not transfer your data to our servers. If we introduce cloud features in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or laws. If material changes are made, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., in‑app or via update notes). Your continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
